Stock Market Yellow Pages gives you a list of exclusively public companies with a particular word or phrase in their description. Many sites it links to for further research provide you with either a "symbol lookup" that lists symbols of companies that you already know the name of (e.g. Quote.com), or a description search that provides an incomplete or cluttered list of both private AND public companies (e.g. Business.com). At Stock Market Yellow Pages you only need to know the "buzz word" (e.g. "biomedical") of a hot industry to get a list comprised solely of companies that you can research and invest in.
